My bad, not "deployed," just gone for 300 days. Yea, that's even better.
And no, you or any of us, does not do the same thing when we walk out the door. We don't leave our loved ones in heap for an hour as they watch us rumble out the door to go to work. He is much more likely to get killed than you or I. That whole warzone thing (RPGs at helos, IED's, houses full of IED's, enemy fire, etc.) kind of ups the percentages in his favor. You and I do not leave the comfort of our own homes and leave into what we may feel is certain death. He does. He may not feel there is a good chance of being killed, but he knows the he is much more likely to end up in a body than any of us.
We all certainly take a risk, but Jesus, just a little appreciation would be nice. I mean, this guy only killed the world's most notorious, vicious terrorist ever. So yeah, fuck him. :

Plenty of non-deployable jobs? In the SEALs? No chance. Theses dudes are an elite fighting force, not paper pushers, mechanics, engineers, etc. They just don't sit around and do admin work or anything else that doesn't have to do with training to killing the enemy. Shit, SEALs are on deployment for more than 300 days per year.
He probably could have been an instructor, but other than that, there are not plenty of other jobs in the SEALs.
Now, he should've/could've transfered to another unit in the Navy, and coasted for four years.
I thought Obama should've given each of the 24 members on the OBL assault a slice of the $25M bounty tax free. That would've cured this issue.

Just finished article and also recently finished the book by Matt Bissonnette. As to who killed Bin Laden each has a different take.
Bissonnette claims that he was the 2nd guy on the steps and that the lead guy fired from steps and by the time they got to the room, that Bin laden was already on the floor dead. This conflicts with the Shooter story who said that he was 2nd guy and killed Bin Laden when the entered the room.

There has to be more to this story. Really makes no sense why The Shooter would leave before he was eligible for his pension and other benefits.

There were multiple "2nd guys," weren't there? I mean, when the first REAL 2nd guy breaks off down a hallway or something, the next guy up becomes the current 2nd guy.

Point man was always the same. He was the one who shot Khalid and story is consistent.
It gets foggy from there. After Khalid was shot The SEALS moved to 2nd floor and broke off. Matt Bissonnette claims that he was then behind the point man as does "The Shooter"

Bissonnette claims that point man shot Bin Laden at when he was standing at top of stairs and when they got to room Bin Laden was already dead. "The Shooter" claims that point man grabbed the two Bin Laden wives and that he shot Bin Laden. Obviously two very different accounts.

I guess we wait to hear from "the point man".

Apparently, the Shooter's passing assertion regarding this got a bit of attention.

I actually knew this to be true when I read the article, where the Shooter got all pissy about the band supposedly telling the military to not use their music. Seems like a dumb detail to include, and to make up in the first place. Would have preferred further information regarding the health insurance thing anyway.
