Deliberately over-the-top exaggeration to prove a point. You should know this.

So, after last week's Raw, Vince is apparently deliberating the thought of holding next year's Raw following 'Mania in the Superdome.

There's no way that could end well.

Fandango 2013 = Zach Ryder 2011 = Charlie Haas when he was doing the impersonation gimmick. At least, to my casual observation. It's a truly awful gimmick, but the talent is giving it his all, and as a result, the fans are responding. Of course, in the past, the WWE has then done it's worst when supporting the surprising initial push - Ryder's heat was killed when the WWE tried to use it to prop up John Cena, and had him getting used like a bitch by Eve. Haas was over for a couple months, but then got squashed by one of those Flavor of the Month heels, I believe (someone like Snitsky or Big Daddy V), instead of being treated like a serious competitor. (Then again, I'm the guy who still thinks the WWE could salvage something out of Santino, if they ever treated him as something more than a joke, but I have no idea if he can actually wrestle or not, since he's never gone more than 10 minutes in a match.)

I was at Raw the night after 'Mania, and I can tell you it's something different than fans shitting all over the character...

One night with the smarkiest crowd east of Chicago is one thing, but will it last when Fandango is in Ohio or where ever? I'm curious to see how this turns out. Maybe it flames out, maybe it's Yes!

The Smackdown crowd Fandangoed its way through a couple of matches. I forget where it was taped, but it wasn't Jersey or Chicago.

It was taped in Boston and there was a sizable carryover from the Mania/Raw crowd the night before. I would say maybe 10-15% since the arenas were only a four hour drive apart and I know a good chunk of people who went to both or all three shows.
That being said, tonight will be the real test of how popular it is. I don't think it has the legs to really sustain the momentum but being that it is catching some viral attention, I wouldn't be surprised if the WWE tried to run it into the ground.

If WWE was on the ball, they should have a dance-off tonight with Fandango and Jericho.

An interesting take on why fans are cheering Fandango:

"The meta fans in attendance Monday night had booed too many WWE stars over the years and had gotten nothing in return — Cena and Sheamus and Orton remain atop the roster, after all. They decided to cheer for Fandango because cheering was the only thing they had left."

Is it bad when I saw the news headline "Space Mountain closed", the first thing that popped into my mind was, "Oh, no! Something bad has happened to Ric Flair!"?

This is an April 1986 edition of World Championship Wrestling on TBS. Getting a chance to watch it and the opening match features Wahoo McDaniel against Ray Traylor (the future Big Bossman) and a segment highlighting the Magnum TA-Nikita Koloff feud. An interesting watch if you have the time.
