The Liberty Hill Independent, an award-winning weekly in fast-growing Williamson County, is seeking to enhance our newspaper's coverage of school and youth/community sports. We are seeking a sports writer who will think creatively, be a self starter and look for opportunities to go beyond routine game coverage to develop in-depth features. This is a part-time position. Some still and video photography will be required at times. The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, effective communicator and relationship builder, well organized, able to meet tight deadlines (especially during football season), able to effectively use social media, and be a team leader. A bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field and at least one year of newspaper experience is preferred, but will consider recent college graduate with internship experience. Newspaper page design, use of Adobe design software, and website experience are plusses! Afternoon and weekend hours, and some area travel will be required. We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience. To apply, send cover letter, resume and clips to news@LHIndependent.com.

If you don't mind, what was the reason for vacating? Sounds like a good gig.

Maybe being part-time was a key point.

Reason for leaving is because it is part time, and I was afforded a full-time position as a Sports Writer for the San Marcos Daily Record. Good folks, good gig, if you have income coming from elsewhere.
