The Post-Star of Glens Falls, N.Y. is looking for someone who will take the lead in designing our sports section. The person we hire will design the section four times a week, with a fifth day normally reserved for planning and advance work. The job will involve some copy editing. This person will also play a role in overseeing the sports pages on our website.

Interested and qualified applicants should apply on line at: http://poststar.com/workhere/

    Qualifications
Candidates must have experience in page design, knowledge of sports and an ability to work on deadline. Proficiency with InDesign is a plus, but a background in QuarkXPress or similar programs will usually suffice. We are seeking someone with a bachelor’s degree and at least two years experience, but will consider an exceptional entry-level candidate.

Someone beat me to the punch in posting this. Just a couple other notes about the opening.
The job revolves around designing the section on a daily basis, but this is a key position in our department and the person we hire will need to be a good decision-maker and work well with others. Also, you would oversee some aspects of our website.
You can apply through the website -- http://poststar.com/workhere/ -- but in addition, feel free to shoot me an email and attach some examples of your work.

Greg's your contact, but I can tell you as someone else who works at the Post-Star is that it's a terrific place to work and live and an amazingly talented sports department.

(No, I do not work on sports) ;)
