TNA beat them to it, with Orlando Jordan as a bisexual:

    I remember this, unfortunately.

Reports on the Internet are saying that Cena's elbow injury may be more serious than some thought. It's looking like he'll be having surgery following SummerSlam and likely take time off.

This can only mean that Bryan will go over and likely begin a feud with Orton to some capacity.

Cena retains, Orton cashes in, starts feud with Bryan. Still think I'm getting trolled with "Bryan as WWE Champion" fantasies.

Bryan is so incredibly over with the crowd right now. To not give him a legitimate title run or main event status would be ridiculous.

This could be the time to turn Orton heel. Bryan finally gets his title only to have Orton come in and swipe it. Bryan resumes the chase as Orton tells him he's not championship material. And proves it with continued wins.

Jeff Hardy and CM Punk think that's a great idea :D But even that's been far back enough in the past that they could do it again and it'll seem fresh.

Everyone seems convinced that Orton will turn heel and cash in on Bryan after he beats Cena at SummerSlam. But that might be so obvious that they change the plan. With Cena possibly out for a while, I'm wondering if Cena wins and Orton cashes in/turns heel on him. Orton goes over as a vicious heel who took out Cena, Bryan pursues him going forward.

Only problem is, do you want to heavily invest in a guy with two strikes?

I can definitely see that happening as well.

Yeah. The WWE seems to like swerving in unsatisfactory ways, just because. Personally, I think the best outcome to the Summerslam match is just a clean 1-2-3 with Bryan over Cena, with no interference from the McMahons or an Orton cash-in after the fact. Basically, make it a "one shining moment" for the guy, similar to how He Who Will Not Be Named received such sheer admiration when he finally won a world title.

I honestly believe it's time they give Orton another run with the belt. It's been awhile since his last slip up, which at this point can only be viewed as a good thing. I say let him cash in at Summer Slam and see what happens.

I think Orton is probably due a run with the belt, but the fact that he has two strikes has got to be a big deterrent. Rey hasn't won a World or WWE title since he got his second strike, has he?
