I wonder what job the ND DC is waiting on. His name was all over the place a year ago.

I don't think you can understand the importance of "being a Trojan" to USC - yeah it's brought some duds like Tollner, Kiffin and Hackett, but also Robinson and McKay. Outsiders have included the middling Larry Smith and the very non-middling Carroll.

Actually, the chances of the Terps winning any future ACC titles are exactly 0.0000000000 percent. :)

I know Edsall isn't well liked, but talk about firing him after a 7-5 season? At Maryland?

I really don't think Sark is a very good game day coach. I have watched/listened to a lot of Huskies games and find myself wondering what he is doing quite often.

He calls that stupid WR screen pass 12 times a game and it works maybe twice. He is running Sankey into the ground, not that that's all bad he is the best RB in the Pac-12.

He seems to be scared to throw the ball down the field. If anything I like that he is leaving because the team is gonna be totally different, Cyler Miles is not the same QB as Price. I hope they make a good hire. I'd love to see Mora at UW.

He is not on the hot seat, is he? I mean I could see maybe a year or two, but not right now?

With 7 wins and a bowl bid assured, no way Edsall is fired. To be honest, the team flat out got their asses beat in some games they should have been competitive in (if not won), but also performed better in other games than I think was expected. To lose as many starters to injury again this year (they didn't run through QBs like last year, but their starter was out a couple of games) and still finish 7-5 is decent work. Especially when both of your NFL-starting caliber WRs broke their legs in the same game.

Long term I don't have high expectations for Edsall. But the last two years he's been snake bit. He's also owed a lot of money and he was the AD's first hire. Since the president at MD doesn't really give two shits about sports, Edsall isn't going anywhere.

Yeah? I heard their chances were 0.0000000001 percent.

UCLA announces a 6-year extension for Jim Mora:

UW is never going to be better than 8-4 anytime in the foreseeable future. Not with Oregon, Stanford, either USC or UCLA and one of the Arizona schools on the schedule. They're a middle tier Pac-12 teams and 8-4 is a nice accomplishment. Maybe that ain't enough for some people. Maybe that's why Sarkisian left. Maybe he's a USC guy all the way; just like Gus Malzahn was an Auburn guy and Urban Meyer an Ohio State guy.

Who knows? I expect a lot of this recent round of conference switching to unravel by the end of the decade. Maryland belongs with Virginia and North Carolina, not with Iowa and Wisconsin. Even a fourth-grader can figure that one out.
