Seems more of a nub than panhandle.

° named for Sidney Dillon, a railroad attorney

° as of 2010, there were 6,757 people, 2,893 households, and 1,764 families

    Notables:

° Harry Northup, actor and poet
    ° Ken Ramos, baseball player
    ° Luke Short, gunfighter

Wiki on Ramos: Kenneth Cecil Ramos (born June 6, 1967 in Sidney, Nebraska) is a former Major League Baseball player and all-star minor league player. He played in 14 games for the Houston Astros in 1997. Ramos' minor league career spanned ten seasons, from 1989 until 1998, including time with the farm systems of the Cleveland Indians, Houston Astros, and Minnesota Twins. While with the Kinston Indians, Ramos earned a spot on the 1990 Carolina League all-star squad. He made the majors in 1997 with Houston. He saw action in fourteen games, primarily as a pinch hitter, although he did play two games in the outfield. He compiled two walks, an RBI and a .000 batting average in fourteen plate appearances.

Tell you what, he can go to bed knowing he drove in 1 run in the majors. .000 average but hey, an RBI. Probably a cute little story to be told there.
