20k/year... Is the price of living that low in Wartburg or would freelance work be necessary to put a roof over your head?

Mountain country. Cost of living should be very reasonable, plus opportunity to make moonshine or meth on the side.

I actually applied for the job. In fact, it's my dream job. I have lived there my whole life and after spending the last 7 or 8 years at the neighboring Roane County News as a stringer I want this job. Sorry if some of you want to thumb your nose at third job.

If your dream job pays $20,000 to $25,000, you need better dreams. Then again, maybe you don't - It must be blissful to set your sights that low, because there is a great chance you'll achieve them. It's like how Poin once told me that three 2s are the same thing as one 6.

You are being a wee bit condescending, sir. If you want to trash someone for going for their dream then that's on you.

Well, bro, get used to it if you're going to hang around here. To each is own. If this is what you want, go for it and good luck.

My idea of hell is paying $3,000/month for an apartment the size of a broom closet on some grimy street in NYC.

    Others would consider it bliss.

    To each his own indeed.

I rarely post on here but I felt obligated to defend my local paper. Normally I just read for job openings.

Some newspaper companies are probably elated that Obama's national minimum wage hike to $10.10 per hour was denied.
