Weird. As a reader, I never had any expectation Tysha would ever resurface.

So it seems to me from the books, they have jumped ahead with the Bran storyline and the Boltons a bit but the rest seems to be about on the same track.

The next bits of the books -- scheming and plotting at the Wall, Tyrion and friends sailing, Daenarys trying to keep things together, little lords trying to marry Daenarys, Boltons still alive -- were some of the slowest parts, I thought. Did like Arya in Braavos.

How many more seasons until the show catches up to the books?

They aren't doing it strictly linearly as compared with the books anymore. In some spots it is still several books behind and in others it is ahead.

I didn't expect her to resurface, but I did expect Tyrion to learn more about her. If I remember correctly, he finds out that Tysha really did love him and that Jaime had made up the story about her being a whore.

Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark) tells Entertainment Weekly there will be no Lady Stoneheart on the TV show:

Interesting. I kind of prefer it that she stay dead, to tell you the truth.

(Though it will be interesting to see how they handle Jon Snow when the time comes).

    EDIT: To include link.

I'm pretty disappointed the character isn't coming back, but I guess the show runners decided she wasn't vital to the overall arc -- her purpose really, hasn't been much revealed. I just wonder what it means for Brienne and Gendry.

I read something similar, maybe at the AV Club that Lady Stoneheart wasn't going to return.

Show runners said they didn't know how to handle her character, as she's basically a non-speaking zombie that kills people.

I don't think it is a huge loss but my book recollections are getting hazier by the day.

Well, this Sean Bean spoiler should get some run on the fan boards:
