Who left or is this to fill Demovsky's old spot?

 

Rob left a year ago for ESPN and there was a posting that followed, wondering if whoever got that job is leaving?

Is Wes leaving, or is this a new job?

 

Mike Vandermause is leaving. This is to replace him.

 

Salary sounded a little high to me. Not that the right person wouldn't deserve it ......

 

Where's Vandermause going? He was already demoted from Sports Editor and moved down to beat writer. I hope Gannett isn't just getting rid of him to cut salary.

 

Any update on the position?

 

Vandermause left to become communications director of a church. Good guy, but a better editor than writer. No matter what the spin, they ran him off. He was demoted from SE/Columnist to beat writer and took a colossal pay cut. The only surprise about Mause leaving was that it took him a year to do it.

Pete Dougherty is a fantastic beat writer and will never leave. He's not on the level of McGinn (who is?) but he does an amazing job given the lack of resources the PG has.

 

Agree with Guillermo. I will add that Wes Hodkiewicz is an up-and-comer. He is a very good writer and writes far more often than Dougherty.
