Any conference that continues to hire Hess to do games is a joke. I've seen so many instances where the only explanation for the call he made was that he wanted to soak up the reaction. The guy is an Class A attention whore, which is about the worst thing a ref can be.

This guy doesn't see a problem with that.

Oh Sparty. Anything Ann Arbor can do, they can do worse.

Seven of the 10 Big 12 teams are ranked in the AP Top 25 this week. An eighth, Oklahoma State, got votes. The Big 12 and ACC should be really fun conference races. Duke, Virginia and Louisville are great teams, but there's a big drop off after that. Every game in the Big 12 will be tough.

Baylor beat Southern tonight, 70-66. Southern was within three late in the game. The Bears did not look good. They didn't make a basket the last 6:09 of the game.

Wow Terps beat Sparty in Spartytown.

VITALE is getting to be a cranky old man. I prefer this version.

Two effectively game-losing coaching gaffes by Izzo:

    1) Calls time out, negating a breakaway layup which would have given Sparty a 4-point lead in final seconds of regulation.

    2) Fails to order an intentional 2-shot foul in final seconds, allows Maryland to drill the game- tying 3 pointer to force OT.
