* Roger Goodell
* Nearly every kickoff going into the end zone due to the idiot above.
* Games played in London due to the idiot above.
* 7-9 teams playing host to a playoff game against 11-5 teams due to the idiot above.
* This obsession with the NFL in Los Angeles due to the idiot above.
* So-called "safer" helmets that actually cause more brain damage due to the idiot above.
* Biased homer announcers, or former players calling games for their former teams because ... well, that's not HIS fault. Blame stupid Fox Sports.
* While I'm on another rant, 17- and 18-yard field goals unless there's less than seven seconds on the clock. Cowards. And no, that's not his fault, either.

Roger Goodell didn't invent division winners getting an advantage over wild-card teams.

Nor did he invent the NFL's obsession with Los Angeles, which goes back at least four decades.

 

You can explain the logic of the rule all you want. Doesn't mean I'm not tired of it. The standards for a rushing TD aren't nearly as stringent as they are for a receiving TD IMO, to the point that those "nose of the ball" touchdowns by a back who never touches the end zone strike me as wimpy. My getting tired of that is as rational as anything else on this thread.

I'm to telling you to stop being tired of it; I'm just discussing the logic of those particular NFL rules, and the logic is solid.

Replay calls? No logic.
Changing the OT sudden-death rule? No logic.
