    What a stupid situation all around. Who cares what color the uniforms were?

    "Why did your team lose tonight?"

    "We were distracted by those pink uniforms."

    Team reinstated. Coach banned for rest of the season. No home playoff games next season, among other "penalties." CIF-LA is a joke. Well, all of CIF is. ...

    Wonder what goes on at Narbonne at times. Recall they got booted from SoCal regionals last year after using a player who should have been suspended for a fight in a sectional game.

    But, yeah, I've heard of kids being tossed from the state track meet for various clothing violations.

    There are CIF rules regarding uniforms. One is that you can have a uniform with 0 or a uniform with 00, but not both. There are also rules about which colors you can wear on t-shirts underneath a uniform. The purpose is to avoid confusion as far as identification. You also may not have a basketball number over 5.

    All that said, the coach should have cleared it with the other team and the CIF. This is her responsibility.

    Shit, the purpose is probably to not have gang colors worn under uniforms.

    The pink-jersey thing is way way way past played out.

    Most blatantly, a set of pink/ pink trimmed uniforms can easily run upwards of $100 per player.

    Wear pink headbands/ socks/ shoelaces and donate the $100 per player to cancer research, not to the uniform companies.

    And ditch the stupid pink uniforms.

    As far as the uniform-color rules are concerned:

    1) the rules are dumb;

    2) the rules are adopted by vote of the HSAAs;

    3) the rules are very clear. You have to be a special kind of idiot not to understand what they mean.

    4) the penalties assessed on the coach certainly appear as if they're being assessed for more than just wearing off-color uniforms.
