When Jackie Robinson was fired as a columnist at the New York Post -- in part because his columns were mostly ghost written:

Jackie Robinson had almost nothing at all to do with the column, which was completely ghost-written by a long-time aide. At best, he chose a topic (or agreed with the one that was chosen) and then gave it a read before it was submitted.

The Brewers could be without Carlos Gomez for a while. An MRI revealed a "tear or defect" in his hamstring. No timetable yet. He is expected to go on the DL tomorrow.

And my fantasy teams thank the Brewers for waiting a day for no damn reason.

I realize Bryant is a big story but, my, the hype this morning on some Chicago sports-talk radio is such the kid is the next Ernie Banks. The expectations, by some, seem a little premature. BTW, Bryant's penciled in clean up.

Like Banks, I can see Bryant playing his entire career without making the playoffs.

When the Cubs got to 4-2 on Monday, it was the first time they were two games above .500 since the end of 2009.

So now they're 5-3. The momentum is unstoppable.

    No, he'll see the post-season.

When he's traded to the Cardinals for Ernie Broglio's grandson.
