Good lord. Was there no netting there? How could that slip through?

Lee Elia thinks Bryan Price has a potty mouth.
And, um, Skip ... it kinda is their job to "sniff out every little thing" about the Reds.
Plus, wouldn't an opponent know if a guy was in the ballpark or not? Not being in the lineup would be one tip off. Not seeing him during batting practice would be another. I'd also think, even if he's on the 25-man roster, that they'd have to declare him as unavailable or something like that, right?

Didn't really slip through. Netting like that behind the plate has enough give that if you're right up next to it, you can get clobbered like that.

And another update on my new favorite player: Paulo Orlando is on pace for 62 triples.

Lee Elia and Tommy Lasorda are somewhere chuckling listening to Price melting down.

My initial impression: Price doesn't know how to handle being a manager and dealing with answering questions. No one bothered to tell him to say "no comment" at all.

He isn't going to last this season, if he's lucky.

I understand Price not wanting to reveal that his catcher was not available in the hope that the opponent wouldn't find out, but once the reporter writes it, just confirm it, say it's for "personal reasons" and move on. No need to have a tantrum.

He'd get destroyed in New York or Boston.

    Whoa, that's right. He is.

Consider the implication here: OOP IS GOING TO ADMIT TO BEING WRONG.
