Other sins "sanctioned" in this country: pornography, fornication, divorce, smoking, drinking, not going to church, taking the lord's name in vain, lust, coveting, lying, greed, gluttony ... and any number of other things the Bible and other religious texts prohibit or discourage. Those texts are irrelevant to American legal discussions. That's not an attack on religion or people of faith, it's a defense of the constitution.

It's fundamental to the America identity that we not enact laws that place the moral (and especially religious) interpretations of one person above the rights of another. Previous attempts (separate but equal, prohibition) eventually disintegrated. Friday's ruling was, legally, inevitable.

That would be like me saying I don't think fat or ugly people getting married because I don't like seeing them kiss.

You're not forced to live here. Move if you don't like it.

The smart counties in those states will stay open for business and reap a financial windfall. Marriage licenses = revenue.

Forty years from now we'll look back on people like the chief justice of Alabama as we do today on George Wallace and Orval Fabus, the idiots in Mississippi who tried to bar James Meredith from attending Ole Miss and the other die-hard segregationists who did not realize at the time that their time had passed, and we will ask, "WTF were they thinking?"

Tony's just trolling with this, right? Just like the rest of the Christians who spend Sunday mornings in church professing their love of God, Jesus...and everything he allegedly taught...only to then spend the other 6 days of the week spilling hate on the Internet. They're just trolling, right? They really believe all that Sunday stuff, they just like to get a rise out of non-believers.

Because it seems to me if you really feel that strongly against gay marriage, you're a prime candidate to live under Shiria Law.

The "sanctity" of marriage? They said the same thing when prohibiting interracial marriages, marriage collapsed then right?

Unlike the left, people of principle dont think everything is about money.

Funny that gay marriage seems to be the only issue on which the left departs with radical Islam.

Again, bravo. This is thoroughly disreputable post - a political troll designed to do nothing more than sow discord - but you've embraced being disreputable, nursing an outsized online persecution complex.

It's quite a performance and you've had quite a run.
