    JournalismJobs.com - Job Listing - Wanted: Eye-catching sports pages

    Date Posted: June 01, 2015
    Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming
    Job Status: Full-time
    Salary: Negotiable
    Website: http://www.wyomingnews.com

    Description:

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle is looking for a page designer who knows sports to join our copy desk team. If you like designing pages with flair, the Wyoming Tribune Eagle wants to talk to you. Headline writing and copy editing are also part of the position as is some news page design. Web and social media skills are preferred: We are upgrading the digital side of our operation and are looking for someone who can help. This is a great entry-level opportunity or one for a more experienced person looking to make a move upward. The WTE, a seven-day a.m. Sunday circulation of 15,000, underwent a radical redesign in 2008 that was named best in the world by SND. Cheyenne, Wyo., is located near the Snowy Range mountains at the northern tip of the Colorado Front Range. Our growing city is close to some of the best hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and other outdoor activity areas in our region. We’re also only about a 90-minute drive from Denver and 45 minutes from Fort Collins, Colo. Send a cover letter, resume and work samples to Mark Borgard, assistant managing editor-nights, Wyoming Tribune-Eagle, 702 W. Lincolnway, Cheyenne, WY 82001 or submit materials via e-mail at mborgard@wyomingnews.com. No calls please.

It's my understanding the WTE has been sold ...

From what I've heard, the WTE and Laramie Boomerang will soon be under Gatehouse ownership. Not sure when the transaction did/will take place.

Hope it doesn't lose its quality. Gags does a great job up there. Top 10 APSE section. Hopefully everyone comes out of this OK.
If both are selling, I'll be interested to see what happens in Laramie with Scott Nulph leaving for South Dakota.

Gatehouse? Too bad. Where is Nulph going?

  7. Nulph had his last day today, moving to the paper in Mitchell, S.D., to live near family. Gatehouse is incorrect, also, and everyone breathes a sigh of relief.

WyoSports is still taking applications for this, but they would like to have someone in place in time for high school sports in mid August.

The Gh rumor was just that.

Was the rumor that the newspapers were for sale incorrect or only the part about Gatehouse buying?

Cheyenne, Laramie, Rawlins and Rock Springs have been purchased, effective Aug. 1. JailHouse is NOT the buyer.

They'll all be published in Wamsutter, as a cost-saving method.

Medicine Bow seemed a prime spot.
