There were 97 honorary votes revealed by the BBWAA.

    94 didn't vote for Sosa
    90 didn't vote for McGwire
    72 didn't vote for Bonds
    72 didn't vote for Clemens
    65 didn't vote for Mussina
    64 didn't vote for Edgar
    53 didn't vote for Schilling
44 didn't vote for Raines (Not PEDs, just putting him in)
    40 didn't vote for Bagwell
    31 didn't vote for Piazza

Just using those known, it bumps a lot of people up at least more than half a percent -- including the votes lost -- and for Bonds and Clemens, it moves them up 2.5 percent to just under 40 percent for Bonds and just over 40 percent for Clemens. Bagwell loses a fraction of a percent while Piazza goes up from 69.9 to 70.3.

It won't make a huge dent but it has something of an impact.

Is it just my feed or is Turner Field really dark?

Third career cycle for future HOFer Adrian Beltre. First to hit three in the same ballpark. He got the triple out of the way in the first inning.

Price 8 IP, 3H, 11K and a 5-1 win over Minnesota in his Toronto debut. The Twins got the bases loaded with no one out in a 1-1 game in the 4th, but he escaped unscathed. I think he retired the last 15 he faced.

Place was crazy. I'm curious to see where this goes. Jays are now tied with Minnesota for the second wildcard, and closing on Anaheim for the first. With that offence, they are an interesting team.

Definitely the case, especially in the outfield.

Probably, although he compiled some of his numbers during a big era for offense.

Also, during my quick journey just now through HOF third basemen:

    1. Wow, Mike Schmidt was good.
    2. Wow, Mike Schmidt is 65 years old. Where did the time go?

Beltre also started extremely early (he debuted in the majors at 19), which boosts his career totals somewhat.

Still, he won four Gold Gloves and was a legit .280-25-90 guy for close to a decade.

I think he gets in, just not necessarily on the first ballot.

Giants need a new closer. Casilla isn't getting it done. It's like 2012 all over again.

The Braves own him, for whatever reason.
