Five books that really impacted me at the time I read them (and that have stuck with me for years since):

1). Enola Gay, by Gordon Thomas and Max Morgan Witts

2). Showing Up For Life: A Recovering Overeater's Triumph Over Compulsion, by Heidi Waldrop

3). The Road Less Traveled, by M. Scott Peck

4). The Shack, by William P. Young

5). To Touch A Wild Dolphin, by Rachel Smolker

Yep, I'm a pretty eclectic reader and these are just among the most memorable of some non-sports books. All are things that I read long ago, and yet, I still think about them, refer to them and sometimes re-read them. I figure that means they might be worth putting out there for others, but they can't really go on the current Books Thread.

Of those, I think Bloom County is the only one with new comics still being cranked out ... and on the Internet only.

I didn't realize"Get Fuzzy" was strictly in reruns now. Damn. I never look at the comics page these days, but I have a page-a-day "Get Fuzzy" calendar.

Pearls Before Swine could hang on that list, too.

The return of Bloom County has been great.

I used to love Sherman's Lagoon too.
