Bates's interpretation of the role was brilliant, however.

Not all of it is. There is history in the Old Testament, but we have to peel through a lot of layers of interpretation and justification to get through it. But it's pretty uninformed to simply wave one's hand and dismiss it as entirely mythology.

  3. She can be fined and/or jailed.
The couple who keeps going the courthouse has stated several times they don't want her jailed.

    Forget jail.

Would the Obama Justice Department really send in the forces against a fellow Democrat?

In Kentucky he might. Some of the most conservative Democrats in the country. Obama is poison here. Typical attack ads link Democratic candidates in Kentucky to Obama.

And Kentucky is in the middle of a governor's race now, with the Republican nominee constantly baiting the Democratic candidate (and current attorney general) on this issue.

Nobody's forcing her to get gay-married. She took the job of her own free will. If she doesn't want to do it, she should quit.

    I think we're seeing a sea change here --

Previous old_tony: She is standing by her principles, I salute her.

New old_tony: Ooh! Ooh! She's a Democrat! I can hate her!
