    Things can get worse for the GOP. If they lose the Senate and a Democrat is in the White House, the Democrats will name somebody more progressive than they would now. They also would get to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who wants to retire. Clarence Thomas is also not in great shape.

    If the GOP loses the election, that means there's a Democrat in the White House same as now -- so they're no worse off.

    I think we are actually thinking similar thoughts in that the best the GOP can hope for is a compromise candidate. I think that's what they are going for in their typical warm and fuzzy manner.

    Does anyone find it ironic that some folks thing the "mainstream media" has failed to look into whether Scalia might have been murdered but has produced stories on this secret hunting society he was meeting with and the fact that he seems to have gone on quite a few junkets paid by groups that had business with the Supreme Court?
