    Never thought about that!

Earliest I can remember having it was in Red Lake, Ontario visiting my Dad in the early 70s. That being said Red Lake might as well be Manitoba.

It was everywhere when I grew up but I didn't venture much off the prairies as a kid.

Most of the pizza joints growing up were owned by Italians or Greeks. There is a Greek style of pizza with the toppings under the cheese that has been really popular in the cities I have lived in.

The first time I saw a New York type slice was when Sbarros came to the mall in the early 80s.

Lots of the pizza places in my city now are owned by immigrants from the Middle East and India.

I haven't tried it but people rave about Donair or Butter Chicken on pizza, little to adventurous for me. ☺

The pizza that Greek places sell is crap.

It's not about the crust. It's not about the cheese. It's about the sauce.

And pineapple was meant to be eaten cold or, if need be, room temp.

Oh, I disagree on that last. Grilled pineapple rings are delicious.

Sometime cook yourself up a nice hamburger patty. As it's still warm, put a pineapple ring on it, then cover that with a slice of American cheese. Top that with some bacon. Then slide all all of that into a nice warm onion roll.

Helluva burger, my friend, helluva burger.

I'm on board with grilled pineapple.

No fruit better than cold, ripe pineapple, but no fruit is better grilled than pineapple, too.

In my father's last days, when the cancer and the chemo had robbed him of so much of his appetite, he still loved fresh pineapple. I suspect it was one of the few things he could actually taste. As my mother was doing literally anything to get him to eat, the house was chock full of the stuff. There was even fresh pineapple in the hospital room the day he died.

Several years after his death, a friend, an American Airlines pilot who was flying a Hawaii route, gave me a box of chocolate covered pineapple chunks he'd brought back. I bit into one ... and almost broke down. I guess I hadn't tasted fresh pineapple since the day my father died. But that taste put me right back in that hospital room.

Grilled pineapple sprinkled with sugar in the raw. Fantastic summer cookout desert.

A properly baked apple is excellent. So is grilled pineapple.
