Don't forget the shrimp salad on it.

My favorite bagel is a big, fat jelly doughnut. Got to be from New York, though.

There's a chain bakery here -- about the only place to get a bagel -- and the times I stop there on the way to work, I get a whole-grain and a sesame, both toasted twice, so they're nice and crusty, with butter.

I'd never make it in New York.

Shrimp salad on an onion bagel is the nice compromise when entertaining Jewish vegetarians?

Lox is definitely not viable after 39 weeks and 7 days.

Plain = also acceptable bagel 'flavor'

Although, where I live in California, you cannot find a decent bagel.
I eat many bagels when I visit back east.
I eat many slices of pizza also, which California doesn't have in adequate supply.
I eat many hoagies, which California lacks.
I eat many calzones, which are terrible here.
I eat many meatballs sandwiches. However, I will say that I recently found a new sandwich place that makes fantastic meatballs. Unfortunately, California is bread-challenged, so the sandwich is still lacking, even though the balls are top-notch.

I've been told my balls are top notch too.

Thanks for getting that in there. Yes, plain is an acceptable bagel. As is an egg bagel.
