If nothing else, I hope the presence of Johnson/Weld might actually encourage Trump and Clinton to realize trying to out-"negative" each other is a losing strategy. Somebody is going to President next January and at the present rate I'd wouldn't be surprised if the winner enters office with a below 50 approval rating, which I imagine would be unprecedented.

 

Bill Kristol thinks there might be two more independent parties, although I don't know if he's found a General who is willing to run yet.
