He's making fun of his accusers' looks. Like, repeatedly. As a strategy. Who can possibly continue to endorse him?

 

"He'll surround himself with good people! Look at who he'll name to the Supreme Court! Words don't matter!"

However, motivated reasoning doesn't pay heed to ideology.

 

Who can continue to support him? The basket of deplorables that make up the majority of his base. The many, many racist, sexist pigs and the women that love those pigs (also racist). What is so hard to figure out?
