I give the frustrated white, middle class voter tremendous credit. You did exactly what I admire, you did something about your frustration, you voted. You voted, you won, and I will honor that "transition of power." When President-elect Trump comes to my area (if he does) I will treat him with the respect that all Presidents deserve.

Conversely, I'm disappointed that HRC's showing in states was lower than Obama's in 2012. People, you get what you (didn't) vote for.

This is where 20 years of being a Pitt fan helps. Work with me here.

I've seen six head coaches in 20 years. Some I've liked. Some I hated. All came in promising big things like politicians - recruiting upgrades, conference titles, high octane offense, quicker, stronger, tougher.

And despite the big proclamations each one of these guys has more or less been a .500 coach. We win some I expect. We win some I didn't expect. We lose some I don't expect. We lose some I deem inexcusable. But at the end of the day they all either break even or come out a little bit ahead. And most times I'm usually a bit disappointed they didn't win more.

Same applies to government leaders. My days of expecting them to do everything on their list is over. They'll win some, lose summore and do just enough to keep you kind of disgusted most of the time. Much like my coaches, I just hope they don't screw things up completely.

The real American dream -- born rich, don't have to do much to keep the wealth, ascend to presidency and mucho power.

    Who doesn't want that?

Leave it to Paul Ryan to be the First to come out aggressive, calling it a Trump mandate.

He won, no doubt. but he didn't win the popular vote and it's not a mandate.

But Paul is nothing but an opportunist for himself, and it shines through clearly and quickly.

    Wisconsin:

Trump got 9,000 fewer voters than Romney.
Clinton got 250,000 fewer than Obama.

Dane County (Madison) had about 100,000 fewer voters for Clinton than Obama did. Madison grows more, often by a lot, year to year btw.

As if winning the election wasn't a big enough thrill for Trump and his supporters, he now gets to see Ryan, Cruz and many other GOP establishment pols get on their knees.

Ten seconds after Trump's hand comes off the Bible (long enough for all in attendance to check for lightning bolts), no one will care. He won the election straight up by the established rules and will govern full throttle, same as Bush 43.

Someone said a few pages back that this was the lowest turnout since 2000. Is that right? 47 percent non-voters is alarming but is that somehow a good number nowadays?

I'm not sure what you want Ryan to do. He was as up front about his discomfort with Trump as he could have been, but many of us have jobs that demand things we find distasteful. I think he managed to hold on to his integrity in a way that Cruz and some of the others who endorsed Trump did not.
