IBM hires tens of thousands of people every year. Committing to hiring at least 25,000 over four years is like me pledging to drink at least two beers after my golf round tomorrow.

Aren't tech companies like IBM one of the biggest drivers in the hiring of highly-skilled foreigners? If so, will they be able to get past The Wall?

Nah, I'm sure all these jobs are going to Beloit and Weirton and Sioux Falls where all the real Muricans live.

Actually a pretty good choice ... and I'm saying this as a lefty. Longtime Navy SEAL and (of course! he's from Montana) outdoorsman who was elected as Big Sky Country's lone congressman in 2014.
If it has to be someone from our ultra-conservative part of the country, I'd much rather it be Zinke than Cathy McMorris Rodgers!

Until Trump nominates Omarosa for a cabinet position, Rick Perry will be the only one who shares his reality TV show past. I was surprised no one brought up his short stint on Dancing with the Stars.

I did a quick search to make sure and found this post from @Inky_Wretch on the pre-election thread (poster 8/29/16). Nice prediction, Inky!

"Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry is doing Dancing with the Stars. I guess he thinks reality TV is the ticket to a spot in Trump's administration."

FINALLY tech companies are going to start hiring again.

Let me tell you how depressing the jobs market is for Computer Scientists. When I was nine months from graduating, I only had nine job offers out of one on-campus job fair, all paying significantly more than I was making at the end of a 19-year newspaper career. Can you imagine being forced to choose from only nine offers?

Trump's going to turn the job market around for people like me! Some day soon, recent college computer science graduates will be in position to demand mid-five to low-six figure salaries for their entry-level experience, from companies all around the United States.
