Holy fuck. You're not even trying.

Syria is (was) 10% Christian. Less than one percent of Syrian refugees have been Christian.

If a few innocents have to die to thin the herd of death-deserving Republicans, turning a blind eye to reality is worth it. #AgreewithGee

What about Orthodox Jews who are only interested on marrying women who keep kosher or men who wear yarmulkes? Should they be denied a place?

Worldwide refugees. Gosh, ever heard the word "context."

I can't remember if I started getting spam email in the late 90s or early 2000s. I honestly don't know which president is to blame.

The Democratic Republic of Congo is 95% Christian. Of course refugees from there are Christian.

Do you not understand that it's currently nearly impossible for a Syrian Christian to get here as a refugee? They aren't safe in refugee camps populated by Muslims. Muslim refugees -- you know the folks we're clamoring to bring here -- would kill and/or rape them.

And, it's from these refugee camps that we process refugees.

Christian refugees from Syria are being excluded, and they are in the most peril -- even from other refugees.

#AgreewithGee says that's acceptable if they don't share his worldview.

Starman's email concern reminds me of a local politician we covered at an old job who came to the office to complain that people were harassing him after a story we ran. What upset him the most was getting emails about cheap Viagra, because how did these people even know something that was supposed to be his private medical records?

You made a false statement the first go round - for lack of precision in your writing - and that's what Gee was pushing back against. At least that's how I read his comment. I suppose we should forgive you for making mistakes like that since you are not a journalist, nor were one, and never had the training many of us on this board have had in the importance of precision and clarity in your writing. But then again you are choosing to post on a board full of journalists and former journalists and so I'm not sure about that leeway either.

It is entirely possible to understand and acknowledge that the number of Muslim and Christian refugees who came into our country in 2016 were roughly equal - meaning that a claim that "so few Christians have arrived here as refugees" is suspect at best, if not patently false - and that Syrian Christians in particular are not gaining entry at a proportionate rate to Syrian Muslims. All we have evidence of, though, is the end result that fewer Syrian Christians are making it to our shore than Syrian Muslims. You're passing off conjecture about why that might be as if it is fact.
