At least under President Pence the odds of my becoming radioactive ash plummet.

    1. Sometimes accurate reporting is also wrong.
    2. The "mistakes" that "push the narrative" are more likely because the reporter assumes it to be the case rather than making something up to make it seem like Trump has something against black people or Muslims or whatever. I truly don't think the intent you assume is there is a conscious thing in legit media.

Really. Pence is very conservative and none too swift on the uptake, but he's a normal pol who will try to be a normal President. He's there to advance Republican priorities, not to "disrupt" anything, least of all internationally.

Let's say Pence does become President relatively soon. All he has to do is:

    1. Not deport as many people.
    2. Not build a wall. Just don't do anything there.
    3. Pick a right-leaning, but not extreme Supreme Court justice.
    4. Leave gay marriage alone.
    5. Replace ACA with basically anything just don't call it Obamacare.

And he might have record approval ratings.

Alas, it was Pence's extreme anti-gay sentiments that got him into political hot water in Indiana, water so hot he jumped to the Trump ticket when other GOP pols were saying they had to wash their hair for the next four years.

Steve Bannon is a self-described Leninist.

Lenin wrote a pamphlet entitled "One Step Forward, Two Steps Back."

Trump just signed an EO that requires for every step forward in business regulations, you have to take two back.

(Or maybe Trump is just a big fan of the Desert Rose Band.)

At least within the state, his war against public school teachers was also a huge deal. It's silly that the superintendent of public schools is an elected rather than an appointed position, but the Democrat who was in that position is hugely popular among public school teachers in the state. He basically stripped her of her power and implemented a bunch of his own committees to advance vouchers and charter schools, in a nutshell.

Do you get the feeling that if Trump merely renamed Obamacare to Trumpcare and offered gold, diamond and platinum plans he would be very very satisfied ?

    Tough call. Probably narrative.

I could make do with ha-ha.

Trump isn't getting removed. His party is full of dickless cowards who stand for nothing.

I think that if newspapers had called it the Affordable Care Act from the outset, instead of getting rope-a-doped in by the GOP, it would be pretty popular.

I'm thinking more like he finds a reason to stop down because this is too damned hard.
