Everyone's aware of the revenue problem.

I'm talking about the credibility problem.

The "credibility problem" largely exists in the minds of people who have been told for decades that the media lies to them by politicians - who are exceptional truth tellers.

 

That list suffered from a serious case of entropy.

 

Of course the rule was meaningless, just like the "do not call" telephone rule or the loud TV commercial rule. It did not solve the problem, it created a new bureaucracy that did nothing.

 

I read somewhere around here that it's because we all sucked at it.

Most of those people are still in the biz.

 

This administration's attacks on the media's credibility are solely aimed at creating an atmosphere where nothing is truly "knowable," therefore enabling them to lie with impunity.
