I don't even think an inability to make it over the plate even crossed his mind. A first pitch appearance would be the antithesis of the rallies he so craves after a bad week at the office. Hell, even today's executive order was just him trying to get his balls back, or at least have some reassurance that they're still there beneath the canopy of his panniculus.

Trump played baseball in high school, so he can probably at least throw a ball without looking dumb. And you really think he thinks he's incapable of anything?

As others have said, it's about not wanting to be booed.

If I'm not mistaken, Obama did not throw out the first pitch on his first Opening Day, but did do so at that year's All-Star Game.

This year's ASG is in Miami, which is loaded with brown folk but is only a short helicopter ride from Mar-A-Lago.

 

Looks like a double-loaf day today.
