I keep a weird yet flexible schedule that usually has me off on random weekdays. I had kicked around going to see the new place on a night where I could pick up a cheap ticket. But the idea of paying $18 in advance just to park in East BFE and hike to the stadium turned me off. And that was before I-85 went up in flames and sent metro ATL traffic to Defcon-1

For the first two games, no credit cards at the team lots either.

Atlanta Braves parking lots won’t take credit cards for first two games | Spinning our Wheels

These guys couldn't come across as more arrogant if they spray painted "Fuck you" on the 17th Street bridge. Do they think people are sheep who will just keep loading up on tickets for a fifth-place team after the stadium novelty has worn off in a month and they're trying to pedal tickets to see the Pirates on a weeknight?

Psst, Braves, if your fans can't park, they can't get into the stadium and buy your overpriced beer and food. You may want to rethink this.

Then again, no, keep making it hard. I'm planning to catch a game in September and I'm perfectly happy with an empty stadium, having grown up on mid/late '80s Braves games.

The structure behind left center at the soon-to-die Globe Life Park in Arlington is an office building. KRLD once had its studios there.

It's a damn shame the AJC can't use this line in print.

How many people will not get the word, and out of habit -- since it's that way at every other damn stadium in the country and has been for decades -- will expect to be able to pay for parking when they arrive, won't be able to, and will leave pissed?
In true Georgia fashion, just when you thought this debacle couldn't get any more debacled, they say, "Hey y'all, watch this."

I feel like we're going to find out eventually that the Braves somehow managed to put taxpayers on the hook for any attendance and/or revenue problems. That would be a fitting coda to this deal.

Tomorrow will be the first Braves home opener I won't attend in I think about 15 years. It sucks. I'm still a fan of the team. But ...

    ... fuck this stadium.
