The teen happened to have caught it but Trump didn't "throw it back to the teen who handed it to him." Trump threw it randomly into the crowd

A. That's not true. He threw it up high, but directly to the kid.

B. Even your less than generous reading of the situation is not what Politico suggested happened.

No, you see, that was fake news by Politico. However, the White House announcing the Carl Vinson carrier group was steaming north to the Sea of Japan to deter North Korea - when it actually was heading south to the Indian Ocean - was not fake news. It was strategery. Or something.

Here's the kid handing the hat to Trump



Here is Trump throwing the hat back into the crowd. Circled is where the kid is standing. You can watch the video for yourself, the guy with the kid on his shoulders is blocking the view of the teen when Trump throws the hat. You can see where Trump is looking. It is not where that teen is standing.




And here is where the teen catches it. He has to lean into the crowd to catch his hat.



So please tell me again how Trump "threw it up high but directly at the kid."
