Team Trump really didn't think this would be a big deal. It boggles the mind.

When various commentators and other politicos within and outside of the Administration proud of the personal connections to the President start getting subpoenaed to appear before Congress asking for more details of their interactions - and they hear the phrase "obstruction of justice - I'm guessing they might start dialing back their rhetoric.

The only thing worse than the type of coward who hides behind the button is one who brags about it.

Congratulations on stumbling to a new low, even for you.

OK. So, if substantial leaks, showing collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, don't emerge in the coming days, what would that mean?

Either the investigation is incomplete or there was no collusion. Most likely the former as it appears Comey asked for more resources right before being fired, which is why you are hearing such a strong response to his dismissal. He should have been fired long ago, but the timing absolutely makes it look like Trump was protecting himself.

Maybe there was no collusion and maybe the Trump administration wasn't lying about the firing, but that won't be proven in the next few days.

Please note I'm trying to give you a genuine response rather than just throwing the Benghazi investigations in your face, so it would be great too see you make a genuine effort.

Senate Intelligence committee issues subpoena for Flynn
    Carolyn Kaster / AP

A press release from Richard Burr and Mark Warner, the top Republican and Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee:

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence today issued a subpoena for former National Security Advisor Lieutenant General Michael Flynn. The subpoena requests documents relevant to the Committee's investigation into Russian interference with the 2016 election. The Committee first requested these documents in an April 28, 2017 letter to Lieutenant General Flynn, but he declined, through counsel, to cooperate with the Committee's request.

Why it matters: Amid the turmoil at the FBI, Senate Intel is sending a clear signal that its Russia probe is moving forward. CNN reported last night that the FBI had issued subpoenas seeking business records from associates of Flynn's, so the ousted National Security Adviser appears to be at the center of both investigations, though he did not comply with the committee's earlier request.
