On the one hand, I agree with you. On the other, this is a win for normalcy. The people not appointed would likely be Trump ideologues. Their positions not being filled means that decisions are being made by the long time civil service staff instead. They will be far less motivated to toe the President's line.

 

They were walking away in disgust. It was a way to make their point. That is not the same thing as running away, but your desperate defense of all things Republican is noted.
