They must think Comey's not going to say anything new that's not already out there. If Comey testified that Trump asked him to drop the Russia case, well that's old news and rigged system and poopy pants.

 

Not to play the palace intrigue game, but that's really surprising.

He's a big time guy who could probably have had his pick of government positions/judicial appointments (assuming he's made enough Wachtell $$). That's pretty much going to be gone now in the world of Trump knowing that loyalty/fealty is the most important requirement. Things must have gone poorly in his conversations with the inner circle.

Plus, it doesn't place his wife in the most favorable position in the West Wing. Maybe it's a play to get her out of DC.

 

NSA Director Rogers is to testify Wednesday. There is a lot of speculation that he may drop a bomb, but I'd be surprised if he says much in open testimony. I think CIA Director Brennan does as well. I know all eyes are on Thursday with Comey, but Wednesday might be interesting as well.
