What is the point of a "camper"?

In summer 1993, me and two high school friends took our Coleman pop-up camping and brought along a TV because the campground had cable hook-ups and we wanted to watch the All Star Game. I remember thinking that was, like, Ritz Carlton shit to have cable at a campground.

We had been camping nearly a decade when my dad broke down and spent $75, a healthy sum for the time, on a 8-inch BW teevee. My mom wanted it to watch soap operas in the daytime.

In total agreement with cran here. Grew up in the South. Never had a single enjoyable camping experience. Not going to purposely make myself uncomfortable as a hobby.

I'm not sure which sounds less appealing: camping or watching an all-star game.

My definition of camping: not getting a room on the concierge floor when I check into a Marriott.

I honestly hate being inside if it is over 50 degrees outside, basically. I go stir crazy in like five minutes. It can be a little tricky because Mrs. Whitman hates the heat and my two kids are lazy asses, but I find being inside to be the uncomfortable thing. I have to get dragged inside every night.

    Wish my kids were lazy!
