How much comes from the theory that every team is going to win at least 55 games and every team is going to lose at least 55, so they will punt a game they see as a lost cause and fight to win another day?

Like the 'one and only politics' thread, can we have a 'one and only DW feuds with posters' thread?

There are only three people here that I don't like. Three. Two of them I am expressly prohibited from interacting with.

EDIT: Four. I'm not enamored of the librarian.

I would think so, if that is what you have determined to be the best long term strategy to keep your players strong and healthy I wouldn't think you deviate that based on standings in July.

I don't care about how many people you have a problem with, I care about scrolling through the shit that is the result of your problems.

I was surprised to see Altuve at the top of the games played list. Most of them were not from the Astros, Dodgers, or Nationals.

I'm sorry that you had to deal with a flare-up about Bryce Harper's off days this morning. Probably ate a whole 40 seconds of your day.

    I'd say go with white.

So Phil Hughes is done for the year. Had the rib removal surgery, and it hasn't gone as well as hoped.

His pinkie and ring finger go numb while pitching, Hughes said, his hand swells up and his arm quickly fatigues — all symptoms he hoped would disappear after last summer’s surgery.

“It’s kind of scary when you start to lose feeling in your hand,” Hughes said. “It’s not really ideal for pitching, especially at this level.”

Owed $13.2 mil for each of the next two seasons.

Phil Hughes returns to 60-day disabled list, expected to be out for the season

Needed more scheduled days off, I suppose.

As I talked about on the Anything Goes thread, I frequently take unpopular positions here because those are the ones that are most interesting to discuss.

That probably necessarily leads to more combative exchanges.

I thought after the other day @Justin_Rice and I were in a place where we could joke about him being "mad" about the Nationals.

    I misread the situation.
