I also wanted to add that Bran's lack of affect may be an acting choice indicating that he isn't really connected to the present reality anymore. His distance seems deliberate to me.

I think you are right, because it's similar to the previous 3ER, but he was a better actor and somehow there was still some kind of gravitas behind it.

But maybe it works because Bran is such a novice at this all-knowing thing.

There is pretty much zero chance that a teenage actor is going to match the gravitas of Max von Sydow. I mean, the dude played chess with death.

Episode 4 is online, if you're into that sort of thing. Reddit.com/r/freefolk will keep on top of the best places to find it.

It's really, really, really fucking good.

I cheered when Bronn tagged the dragon.

How long does it take Dany and Jon to realize that their situation is basically what political marriages were invented to solve?

How long until one of the dragons reacts to Jon and short circuits that idea?

So many nice touches in this episode. That scene with Arya and Brienne sparring... how Arya hands over the dagger with flips and flourishes. Sansa watching and assessing them as they fight. Littlefinger's eyes... they look like the wheels on a slot machine flipping past as the possibilities occur to him. Aiden Gillen's performance, the way he simply stands quite still and observes, with small flickers of of thought and emotion crossing his face. It's so subtly played.

"Who taught you that?" "No one."
