@YankeeFan thinks it's enough to call these alt-right assholes "repugnant." Would that it were. The problem is, in 2017, if the wrong person calls them "repugnant," they'll adopt it as a badge of honor. (See: "Deplorable.") The speech in question IS assault. It IS a threat. It IS yelling "fire" in a crowded theater. I'd love to think that if we ignored them, they'd go away. But I don't think that's true anymore.

If you have written a single sentence in defense of Trump's refusal to condemn the alt-right, you need to read this article and see what it is that you're defending. The headline reads "Heather Heyer: Woman Killed in Road Rage Incident was a Fat, Childless 32-year-old Slut".

Read it. Own it. This is what you're defending. If you have any decency, get a puke bucket first.

Ordinarily I would agree, but if you don't read it you can't understand how awful it truly is. Yes, "Killed in Road Rage Incident" is a pretty strong clue, but this piece is utter filth, the hateful trashing of a young woman killed by a terrorist. For instance, the author says it was her fault that she was killed because she was too fat and slow to get out of the way.

 

I don't need to see video of a girl getting run over by a car to know it's bad. And these assholes hold up likes and shares and traffic numbers as evidence that people agree with them. Don't.

 

I don't pick up dogshit off the sidewalk and inspect it.
Stuff like this is to be averted.
If you don't have a dim view of humanity by now you haven't been following the news the last decade or so.
