One thing that I always found interesting in reading about the Lincoln-Douglas debates was how they would draw thousands of people, and that the debates themselves would go several hours.

I always keep in mind that they didn't have microphones back then. So you had Lincoln and Douglas probably shouting for several hours, and a whole bunch of people probably couldn't hear them anyways.

 

God, he is such a tool. He really can't comprehend that there are people who don't view TV ratings/fame as the end all goal of human existence.

BTW, has he told Houston how much this will boost their tourism yet?
