Halloween 2017

Happy, happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween ... happy, happy Halloween ... SIL-ver SHAMROCK!

For the record, we're a "trusty provider" house, loading up on the good stuff a few weeks ahead, when it's on sale. I was good this year and only broke into one bag of it ...

 

I gave out a boatload of Kit Kats. Had styles I hadn't seen before: dark chocolate and white chocolate.

 

Rain made it tough on the tykes here tonight, but a goodly number made it to the door of Chez Speed and were thrilled to be told to take as many packets of ketchup as they wished. OK, OK, I handed out brand-name candy (M&Ms, Skittles, Reese's cups, etc.) and let them take a big handful if they wanted to. Loved seeing the costumes, and the best line of the night was from the little kid in a full white rabbit costume who was soaking wet -- "Dude, this is wearing me out. I can barely lift my paws."

 

Guy I work with brought the white chocolate kit kats to work the other day. Had never seen them before, he said they been out at least a year. They are very good.

 

White chocolate is NOT chocolate. It is an abomination which must be eradicated entirely.

 

Still love Mitch Herberg:

"The Kit-Kat candy bar has the name 'Kit-Kat' imprinted into the chocolate... That robs you of chocolate!"

 

Of course I'm kidding.

I would, however, save some terrible coconut candy just for them.
