Whatever happens in Ala (which from afar looks like a lost cause); the harbinger of 2018 was loud and clear last night in VA and NJ.

 

Spielberg. Streep. Hanks. Pentagon Papers.

Hard to imagine a more sure bet to be a great movie than that combination.

 

1) I don't have the slightest expectation of the Democrat winning in Alabama

2) Winning the Virginia statehouse was roughly as far-fetched as winning in Alabama is

 

That's fair. I have no realistic reason to think Jones will win. I do think that it is *possible*.

 

Man, Tom Hanks is great, but it's going to be tough for anyone to ever top Jason Robards as Bradlee.

 

The problem being of course that the case was New York Times vs. U.S. and the Times beat the Post to publication by five days.
