President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

I don't want to sound pessimistic, you guys, but I'm not sure you're going to solve the abortion debate.

 

You're going to see quite a few more GOPers head to the lifeboats of lobbying and punditry after they pass this tax bill. They know it will be an albatross that drags them down almost as much as Trump will.

 

The best people. The best diplomacy!

President Trump threatened on Wednesday to cut off American aid to any country that votes in favor of a resolution at the United Nations General Assembly denouncing his recent decision to formally recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. ...

“All these nations that take our money and then vote against us at the Security Council or the assembly, they take hundreds of millions of dollars and billions of dollars and they vote against us,” Mr. Trump said. “Well, we’re watching those votes. Let them vote against us, we’ll save a lot. We don’t care.” ...

It is difficult to see how Mr. Trump could deliver on his threat to cut financial assistance, since it could involve cutting off aid to a number of strategic allies.

I don't know what asshole started this tangent but in other news, it appears a single disputed vote has been counted in a Virginia House race, which results in a TIE for the seat.

Think Trump's empty threats will cow the General Assembly?

 

Not while we're busy fixing capitalism. Give us a couple weeks.

 

What a relief. The party the majority of voters voted for almost got some power. We may yet avert that.

 

And people wonder why I say QYFY constantly lies when he makes sweeping statements about Democrats and/or liberals. He offers another prime example.

 

They're going to draw lots for it. It's the law. I think it's very cool the law allows for the possibility of ties. They could have made each candidate take turns trying to win a vote starting at the 25-yard line.

 

This tax bill is absurd. Huge giveaway to the ultra-rich. Will end up hurting the middle class and people in blue states. And accelerate the rise of health-care premiums. A giveaway the rich and corporations when the economy is doing well is beyond irresponsible. Maybe THIS time people will finally learn that rich people and corporations will never put that money back into the economy and into the pockets of the middle class and poor. Never going to happen.

One thing is for damn sure. The bullshit GOP talking point about not raising the deficit is gone forever. Kaput. Dead. Over.

Next time a republican whines and cries about the deficit, just look them in the eye and say “go fuck yourself.”
