LOL. it's impossible to be against tearing down Civil War statues and monuments without supporting white nationalists, but you can totally be against Israel without supporting the Islamofascists who want to wipe Israel of the map.

Maybe Pence should add Trump to the list of people he won’t be around unless his wife is there.

Rick, in the dispute between Israel and it's adversaries, who are the good guys, and who are the bad guys?

I don't often go out of my way to say nice things about AT&T, but I will this time. Tax cuts results in $1,000 bonuses to employees and $1B to be invested in upgraded infrastructure. If more companies do this some of the Republican's lies will become true. I doubt it happens, but it's a great move by ATT.

AT&T is giving $1,000 bonuses to 200,000 employees after tax bill

The good guys are the innocents on both sides. The bad guys are the entrenched powers who frequently kill them.

The Arab-Israeli problem is close to unsolvable. In 1948, after the UN vote that allowed the formation of the state of Israel, the surrounding Arab countries resolved to wipe it off the face of the earth. The Mufti of Jerusalem called for the Arabs to drive every last man, woman, and child into the sea and slaughter until the water ran red. Like most Americans, I support Israel as a general policy.

That said, there's plenty of blame to go around. The Arab world in general despises the Palestinians, and left them to rot in DP camps, because leaving those people as a running sore would create problems for the Israelis. They certainly didn't want to offer them shelter in their countries, with the exception of Jordan perhaps. Generations of Israelis have grown up surrounded by millions of people in countries who want to kill them and take their land, and who have tried to repeatedly. Many of them fall in between contempt for and no sympathy for the Palestinians. Yes, there have been terror attacks and random killings of Israelis, and there have been a number of killings by the Israeli security forces.

Israel has repeatedly settled on or otherwise claimed Palestinian land, basically working over time to make it impossible for the Palestinians to form their own state. I can remember that as a UN mandated ban on settlements was approaching its start date, Benjamin Netanyahu was vocally urging his people to hurry up and start more settlements before it started.

It's a tar baby topic - lots of right and wrong on both sides, and all either side wants to recognize is the wrongs done to them.

It's why I laughed when Jared was given the portfolio to fix the Middle East in addition to his other varied "duties" in the White House.
