How did all parties concerned not know about this conflict and try to have it waived (if ethically possible) before the announcement? That’s gross incompetence.

 

These people are dumb. Don't expect them or him ever to be something they aren't.

 

This is why the debate will forever get nowhere.

 

It's not just the pro-life movement. Everything that conservative America thinks of as Christianity is a thinly veiled power grab by white men.

It's pretty obvious when you consider the differences between how they live and act versus how the Jesus of the gospels lived and acted. Jesus spent his time wandering the country, helping poor people and dispensing aggressively non-judgmental advice. He was disinterested in government or riches and actively rebuked his followers when they started to complain about taxes. Nothing about the Christian right's prosperity gospel, obsession with purity, and perpetual pursuit of governmental dominance resembles any of that.
