2018 NFL off-season thread: Mr. Alex Smith goes to Washington

He doesn't have to.

Roethlisberger doesn't have to like it. He can be an absolute ass to the new kid and treat him like something he stepped in. He doesn't have to work at it or take him aside and show him techniques or point out that the Mike backer shading ever so slightly to one side means a blitz (or whatever).

But the rookie will be in every quarterback meeting with him. He'll hear everything the coaches tell Ben and most of the things Ben tells the coaches. He'll watch him practice every day, watch film with him during the week and go over the game plan with him before every game. He'll see where the Ben goes with the ball when certain situations come up, and will find out why when they go over it in the Monday meeting. The QB coach will make sure he tells the rookie as many of Ben's tricks and tips and reads as he knows.

You have to figure he gets something out of all that, right? Maybe a lot?

Even if Roethlisberger completely blows off the new guy, he'll still be mentoring him.

 

Very well could have been a Bengal.

There could be more to the Patricia case than he or the Lions would like to admit:

Patricia and the other guy double teamed her, right? Then it just becomes a matter of what she consented, or didnt consent to .

 

A case would have had witnesses and medical evidence? Wow.

 

But it was dropped and Patricia was pissed a good reporter found out about something that could have had him in jail:
