I am not offended by the kneeling. I AM offended by people turning the anthem into a freakin' American Idol audition piece.

    This is silly.

If it were true, they would have taken these measures -- or stronger ones -- immediately after the President made it an issue, rather than doing everything they could to avoid the issue.

Trump may have gotten more people "talking about" the issue -- sorry, I don't have a graph -- but he isn't dictating policy to the owners. They're responding to their fans.

Very true. That's where religion comes in: "God wanted us to win today."

Does the rule prohibit kneeling or any form of self expression? What's to stop a player from protesting by turning their backs?

This has probably been covered but I find it interesting that the NFL comes out with this shit on the same day that the Sterling Brown video was released. But I guess that there is no reason at all to bring attention to social injustice. He probably had it coming.

So they’re gutless, un-American AND kowtowing to the president all at the same time?

    Winning.

Trump doesn't think the guys should be allowed to stay in the locker room. How is the NFL order directly from him?

All but one owner voted for the policy. I don't believe they're all Trump guys.

But I know how the media - especially the national media, especially ESPN - will play this. How they've already played it on social media.

Some people here also need to brush up on what “de facto” means.
