ESPN has plenty of white voices. Too many, arguably.

The point they all by and large say the same stuff. And when they don't, there's some evidence they'll face a social media clapback from their colleagues. And, of course, now there's Olbermann, who only deepens the impression that ESPN is in the business of liberal sports talk.

A black, Hispanic and a white on a panel is a balance that hasn’t been successfully negotiated, regrettably.

The three just need to go up to a bartender...

I am watching "Get Out" this morning.

I find Jalen Rose unpleasant to listen to. You can say he has a regional or ethnic accent, to me it is more like he has a speech impediment, i.e. he does not use his tongue when he speaks.

On the other hand, Cari Champion is poised, charming and good looking.

Can't be a good feeling for Beadle to see Maria Taylor and Cari Champion looking good on the show.

I am not a big Jalen Rose fan but that is just me. I do think it was absurd of ESPN to hire an ex-basketball player as the resident jock. Football draws the most viewer interest in this country. I think ESPN needed to hire a former NFL player in that role of in-house jock.

This isn't Rose's first exposure as a talking head. He did stuff with Simmons going back to Grantland or maybe earlier and was a co-host on a ESPN Radio show.

ESPN doesn’t like football. Not like it likes basketball. Football may pay some of the bills but basketball is more individualistic and cooler, and that’s what ESPN is into. Football is more conservative.

Apart from golf, there is not a major sport in the world more conservative than baseball.

Yet there's not a weekday without at least an hour of football news, pro and/or college. Or is that more a business decision?

Throw in a NASCAR race and you're in dreamland for hours.
