Stay safe. Fireworks every night here for the past week, scares the hell out of Ella. I may go on the roof for a bit tonight and watch some off the Hudson River.

We're going over to see a bunch of old friends. I put a pork shoulder in the crock pot early this morning, and after it cooks ten to twelve hours the meat will be falling apart, so the pulled pork is covered. Fresh sweet corn on the cob is cheap and plentiful and the beer is cold.

It's going to be a good day.

    Happy Independence Day!

The English love to make a big deal out of this. Yet they overthrew a handful of kings before 1776... all of whom suffered fates far worse than losing some colonies that were money pits anyway.

    i sense some misdirected guilt.

It is scary. Our pet sitter recommends keeping the TV on, or some music. Hope that idea helps!

I am back in America for the Fourth and am so happy to be home, even if I am severely mosquito-bug bitten from trying to put up a shed in my parents' new back yard.

Guess the guy who, in the opinion of the alleged president, has "an amazing reputation" may have been off.
